Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police in a statement on Thursday said that Lashkar-e-Toiba is behind the abductions and killings in Hajin.
In a statement the cops said that Mohd Saleem Parrey of Hajin, who joined militancy last year is the ‘mastermind’ behind the abductions.
“Evidences collected so far indicate that, Saleem along with his accomplices (FTs) on the 3rd of April, went to the house of in-laws of Naseer Ahmed Parrey, fired on the inmates injuring three of them, and abducted Naseer,” the police statement said.
The statement further added that they fired at two ladies and they were brutally beaten as well. Both of them are under treatment at hospital.
Naseer was found dead the other day in the outskirts of Hajin, with three firearm injuries in his abdomen.
The police added that the group with Saleem, as the key conspirator, barged into the house of Abdul Gaffar Bhat and took Gaffar and his 24 years old son Manzoor with them.
“Gaffar managed to escape even after sustaining firearm injury. Police has started process of tracing the abducted person. Pertinently he is a Shepherd by profession. Cases have already been registered in both incidents and investigations are on,” the statement said.
