Fact Check: Did JK SSB really issue an admit card to a donkey named ‘Kachur Khar’?

Srinagar: On April 26, a picture showing an admit card of Donkey named ‘Kachur Khar’ went viral on social media. On one of the pages on Facebook, the picture had over 500 shares.

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (SSB) admit card is issued to one candidate Kachur Khar (which means Blonde Donkey), son of ‘Krihun Khar’ (which means Black Donkey) in the examination for the post of Naib Tehsildar.

The admit card mentions the date of birth as January 1, 1990.

The donkey as per the admit card is proposed to write an examination paper at Government Girls Sec School Khanyar to be held on 29th April 2018 at 1.00pm.

When Free Press Kashmir tried to access the admit card on the official website, it showed that there is no record of the case.

However, when contacted, the JKSSB told Free Press Kashmir, that the roll number corresponds to a weird admit card where the name and the picture is incorrect, following which the SSB has blocked the application.

The incident is not first of its kind. Earlier JKBOPEE had issued an admit card to a cow with the name ‘Kachir Gaw’ (which means blonde cow).

JKSSB Chairman Simrandeep Singh said the admit card was computer-generated and the department was not at fault. “It is generated by a computer. Some people play pranks for entertainment,” Simrandeep Singh said.
