A Kashmiri student has been kidnapped  in Jalandhar area of Punjab by unknown gunmen on Friday, reported the news agency GNS.

While quoting a group of students, the GNS report said that gunmen barged inside the rented accommodation of Adil Hussain Teli in Mithu Basti around 6 am.

The gunmen, it said, asked for the identities of all the Kashmiri students putting up in the building.
“When they heard of Adil Hussain Teli (son of Mohammad Hussain Teli, a resident of Noonmai, Yaripora, Kulgam), they barged inside his room and took him along,” said the report, while quoting the students. The gunmen, they said, also ransacked their rooms and scattered their books.

Adil is pursuing BCA from St Soldier Group of constitutions Jalandhar. The exams of his 6th semester are scheduled to begin from May 2.

“Soon after the incident, we approached the concerned police station JP Nager, Jalandhar at around 6:30 am and informed them about the kidnapping but they did not act on it swiftly and later a police team reached the spot at around 12:00 noon,” alleged a student.

The students also accused the college principal of showing indifferent attitude when he was informed about the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jalandhar said that a police team has been sent to the spot and investigations are underway, said the report.
