Incarcerated Lalu granted three day parole to attend son’s marriage

Lalu Prasad Yadav, the incarcerated former Bihar Chief Minister on Thursday was granted a three day parole to attend his son Tej Pratap Yadav’s marriage in Patna.

Prasad may reach Patna late on Thursday evening. He had initially applied for five-day parole. Convicted in four animal husbandry scam cases, he is currently lodged in Birsa Munda Central jail in Ranchi since December 23, 2017.

Tej Pratap is to marry Aishwarya Rai, daughter of RJD leader Chandrika Yadav and grand-daughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai, on May 12 at Patna veterinary college ground.

The engagement was held in a Patna hotel on April 18 in the absence of Prasad. Later, an emotional Tej Pratap posted “Miss you Papa” on his Twitter account.
