On Sunday, Ethical hackers claimed to have the bank account details of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman R S Sharma and posted it on Twitter. They sent screenshots of sending Re 1 to Sharma via the Aadhaar-Enabled Payment Service using apps like BHIM and Paytm, and through IMPS. They also posted the transaction IDs, reported The Times of India.
Earlier, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman RS Sharma on Saturday disclosed his Aadhaar number on the microblogging site twitter and challenged everyone to show how mere knowledge of the unique number could be used to harm him, triggering a deluge of tweets that claimed to disclose his personal details from PAN to mobile number.
The challenge by Mr Sharma evoked an immediate response from the Twitterati, with Elliot Alderson digging up his mobile number, photographs, residential address, date of birth and even chat threads using the information, while others warned him about the perils of throwing such a dare on the social media platform.

While much of the information based on the Aadhaar data that was dug out may already be in the public domain, the TRAI official did not verify whether the details pertaining to his PAN were indeed correct.
Elliot Alderson, founder of Fsociety, a French security researcher, should have the Indian Authorities worried. An expert in data security, Alderson, exposed how Aadhar’s biometric database is in great danger.
