Entire Kashmir Valley in state of grief after the loss of Dr Manan Wani: KEA

Hardly any day goes by when Kashmiri people don’t shoulder the coffin of their loved ones

Srinagar: Kashmir Economic Alliance Chairperson (KEA) Muhammad Yaseen Khan today said that entire Valley is in a state of mourning and grief after the loss of PhD scholar turned militant Dr Manan Wani in an encounter at Handwara on Thursday morning. He said we are loosing our precious assets one by one with each passing day.

Khan who also heads Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) said almost everyday we have to shoulder the coffins of our forth generation which is making it most painful for every human being.

While questioning the conscience of people of India, Khan said, “no one in India is bothered over the reason that why highly educated youth in Valley are picking up the gun? Rather than enquiring about the reason, GOI is feeling happy by showering bullet rounds on our youth,” Khan said.

“Our youth are making the greatest sacrifice of their life by giving preference to the gun rather than pen for the sacred peoples movement. They are being forced to take to this path of Martyrdom as GOI refuses to give up its policy of repression and acknowledge that people of Kashmir will not yield to submission,” Khan said.

Khan said, that the Martyrdom of our youth is extremely sad and painful for the whole nation and puts the onus on each one of us to safeguard these sacrifices and strive all the more for our just cause.

“There is hardly any day when Kashmiri people don’t shoulder the coffin of their loved ones and yet the resolve and commitment of people of Kashmir towards the peaceful solution remains unshaken,” Khan aded.

He appealed international community to impress upon GOI to enter into a sustained and serious dialogue with people of Jammu & Kashmir to resolve the issue that is generating tragedies and consuming our forth generation, the statement read.
