Army man ‘mysteriously’ hit by bullet inside army camp in Rajouri, dies

An army man was hit by a bullet inside an army camp in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, later succumbing to his injury, officials said on Friday.

A police source, cited by Greater Kashmir, said that the army man was mysteriously hit by a bullet in Narian village along Jammu-Poonch highway on Friday.

“He (soldier) received a bullet injury yesterday afternoon and was shifted to an army hospital where he succumbed late evening,” said the source.

The army man’s identity was not immediately revealed. He had been posted at RR unit in Mahore in Reasi district and was visiting Narian army camp in Rajouri district for some official purpose.

Meanwhile, police has begun an investigation into the mysterious death, said the source.
