Srinagar: The policeman who was critically wounded in the militant attack in Shopian that left three other cops dead in Zainapora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district has succumbed on way to a hospital in Srinagar.
Three policemen were killed and another injured after Jaish-e-Muhammad militants attacked a police post in Zainapora area earlier today.
The injured cop was immediately taken to nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital, however, he succumbed on the way. A police officer confirmed that the injured constable succumbed on the way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has condemned the attack.
I strongly condemn the attack on the police post in Shopian & condole the deaths of three @JmuKmrPolice personnel in the line of duty. I pray for their souls & for the speedy recovery of those injured in this attack.
