Shiv Sena accuses ally BJP of forgetting core issue of Hindutva, demands ordinance on construction of Ram Temple

Accusing its ally BJP of forgetting the core issue of Hindutva, Shiv Sena on Thursday demanded that the Government should bring an ordinance for the construction of Ram temple in the winter session of the Parliament.

Sena leaders were seen holding placards in the aisle of the House demanding early construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Shiv Sena leader in the House Anandrao Adsul said, “The BJP got clear majority but even then it did not take an initiative to build Ram Temple in Ayodhya. We demand that government bring an ordinance on the issue”.

Last time when the BJP was in power it could not do anything on the temple issue citing coalition compulsions but this time it has got a clear majority, even then it has done nothing, he said.

The BJP has “forgotten” its core issue of Hindutva which was also the main reason for the Sena-BJP alliance, Adsul said, recalling that BJP veteran L K Advani took out the Rath Yatra in 1992 in support of the Ram temple.

On Wednesday, National Conference Patron Farooq Abdullah said that using “Bhagwan Ram” has collapsed BJP in the five states that went to polls recently.

“Using the name of “Bhagwan Ram” for winning elections has collapsed BJP. People have rejected Mandir-Masjid politics and upheld secular politics in the country. For four years they didn’t remember a temple to be built in the name of “Bhagwan Ram” but in election time they remember “Bhagwan Ram”. People have voted against betrayal of promises, be it GST, demonetization or any other policy decision taken during last four years. The value of Indian rupee has gone down, commitment of transferring fifty lakhs in the bank accounts of people and demonetization are the factors that have contributed to the defeat of BJP in the five states.”

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti while reacting to the Assembly elections results in India said that the results are an outright rejection of Mandir-Masjid politics and shows that political awakening among the people in India is on the rise.
