Srinagar: In the Pulwama gunfight, which erupted in the Hajin Payeen village of the district four militants have been killed, reported the news agency GNS.
Reports said that the slain militants belonged to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit.
Quoting a senior police official, GNS reported that four militants were killed in the gunfight. “The searches are on,” he said.
Meanwhile, intense clashes erupted between the protesters and the armed forces near the site of a gunfight.
Reports said that the residents, especially youth, came out of their houses and pelted the forces with stones as soon as the news of gunfight spread in the area.
They said the forces responded by firing tear gas at the protesters.
