Mehbooba wants talks with militants at an ‘appropriate time’, says her media adviser

Srinagar: Media Adviser of PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti has said that she wants talks to be initiated with militants but at an appropriate time.

Ina tweet, Syed Suhail Bukhari, media adviser of Mehbooba said:

@MehboobaMufti bats for talks with militant leadership at appropriate time. May be not at this juncture,but at an appropriate time even militant leadership should be talked to along with Pakistan and separatists , she told reporters in Anantnag , south Kashmir .@jkpdp @shangpal

Recently, Mehbooba had said that if the Army Chief can advocate talks with Taliban then why are there ‘different standards when it comes to own (Kashmir) people?

However, Rawat had said that the analogy cannot be applied in Jammu and Kashmir where the government has rejected talks with stakeholders including the Hurriyat and militants.
