Governor Malik working overtime to implement RSS agenda in Kashmir, says Karra

Srinagar: Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and former Member of Parliament, Tariq Hameed Karra on Saturday said that Governor Satya Pal Malik is working overtime to implement RSS agenda in the Jammu and Kashmir.

Karra in a tweet said Governor Malik has been tasked to change political and geographical demography of the State.

On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir government approved for the creation of a separate division for Ladakh as a revenue and administrative division, ahead of the 2019 general elections in the region.

The development occured after the two districts- Leh and Kargil- had consistently demanded for the same. Approval of the posts of Divisional Commissioner (Ladakh) and Inspector General of Police (Ladakh) have also been carried out. The new division will have its headquarters in Leh.

While welcoming the Governor administration’s decision to grant the status of Division for Ladakh region, Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Lone said that Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley should also be granted the same to bring government and administration closer to its people.

Earlier, PDP said that if divisional status not given to Pir Panjal, locals can also think of ‘undemocratic ways to get demand fulfilled’.

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah had also said that if his party wins in the upcoming elections, NC will grant division status to Chenab valley and Pir Panchal regions.
