Setback to Congress in JK as former state Vice President Sharma joins BJP

In a big set back to Congress, its senior leader and former state vice president Sham Lal Sharma on Saturday joined Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu.

Sharma was welcomed into the party by BJP National Vice-President and J&K incharge Avinash Rai Khanna, State President Ravinder Raina and other senior leaders.

Reports quoting sources said that Sharma will be elevated to an important position in the Bharatiya Janta Party in the coming days and it will be announced by the Bhartiya Janta Party National President Amit Shah in his rally at Sunderbani on April 3.

Sharma resigned from the Post of Vice President of Congress last year after alleging the party leadership of ignoring the core issues of Jammu and failed to strike a balance between all three regions of the state, including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
