‘Modus operandi’ of Congress, I too was accused of many things, says Modi on Sadhvi Pragya’s candidature

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, while defending the candidature of Sadhvi Pragya has said that he too was ‘accused of many things’ when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Sadhvi Pragya, who is BJP’s candidate from Bhopal is the prime accused in the Malegaon blast case.

Modi, in an interview to Aaj Tak, accused the Congress of “running a modus operandi” to spread lies about others.

“Congress follows a procedure to spread lies and accuses others without any proofs and substance in their accusations,” he said.

He said, “I have been accused of many things. If you search social media, you would find lakhs of pages against me. As an effect, even the United States of America denied me a Visa. When the truth was revealed, the US itself sent me an invitation.”

“So, Congress has been running a modus operandi to spread lies and the habit does not go.”

Earlier, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said that Sadhvi is a nationalist who was treated like a terrorist.

“It was gunaah ki parakashtha (the height of atrocity). You arrest a person just on the basis of mere suspicion and make her undergo physical and mental torture for nine years. The stress that she had to endure weakened her physically and she got afflicted with cancer. She is not a terrorist but a nationalist lady,” Ramdev told reporters in Patna.

Recently, Sadhvi Pragya said that a mixture of cow urine and other cow products cured her breast cancer.

Sadhvi Pragya, who is the prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, said that the former Mumbai ATS chief who was killed during the 26/11 attacks, died due to his ‘Karma as he had treated her very badly’.

Her statement came under immense criticism and even the IPS Association demanded an apology.

She later apologized for her statement saying by saying that the ‘enemies of the country were benefiting from it.

“I felt that the enemies of the country were being benefited from it, therefore I take back my statement and apologise for it, it was my personal pain,” she told ANI. “He (Karkare) died from the bullets of terrorists from the enemy country, he is certainly a martyr,” she added.
