Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Hurriyat (M), on the eve of World Press Freedom Day has hailed the contribution of the free press across the world as well as of the Jammu and Kashmir for ‘letting truth prevail.’
In a tweet, Mirwaiz said:
Pen is mightier than the sword, On #WorldPressFreedomDay hail the contribution of free press across the globe as well as of our Jammu and Kashmir press fraternity who inspite of pulls and pressures let the truth prevail. Those who censor media aim to censor the truth

The United Nations has declared May 3 as the World Press Freedom Day.
