Bandipora minor ‘rape’: Bar Association to abstain from work in solidarity with the victim

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) on Monday decided to abstain from court work in solidarity with the three-year-old rape victim.

“HCBA has decided to abstain from court work today in protest against the kidnapping and rape of three-year-old girl in Malikpora, Sumbal,” read a statement issued by the JKHCBA.

Police have already arrested the accused, who is a resident of Malikpora Trigam Sumbal. Meanwhile, massive protests have erupted in Kashmir with the people demanding speedy trial of the case.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday said that the accused is not a juvenile as claimed by the school authorities.

Cops also summoned the Principal of the school who issued a ‘fake certificate’ in favour of the accused.
