JK reports fresh 683 COVID infections, 23,225 recovered so far

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Thursday informed that 683 fresh COVID cases were detected in JK, thus taking the total number of cases to 30717.

The Kashmir division of the erstwhile state also recorded 6 COVID deaths in the last 24 hours.

Moreover, 728 more patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 117 from Jammu and 611 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 30717 positive cases, 6914 are Active Positive, 23225 have recovered and 578 have died; 41 in Jammu division and 537 in Kashmir.

The bulletin further said that out of 833403 test results available, 802686 samples have been tested as negative till August 20, 2020.

Additionally, till date, 423481 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 41798 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6914 in isolation and 44503 under home surveillance. Besides, 329688 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The administration has also evacuated about 3,32,951 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

As per the official data received in this regard, the administration has received 120 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from different states and UTs, so far, with about 102,303 passengers while about 2,30,648 persons from other states and UTs including 906 from abroad have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date.

As per the detailed breakup of the figures, about 2672 stranded passengers have entered through Lakhanpur from August 20 to August 21 mornings while 1059 passengers have reached today in the 99th Delhi COVID special train at Jammu.

So far, 99 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 86,607 stranded passengers belonging to different districts while 15,696 passengers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far.
