Militants release video of Baramulla attack a day after police confirms killing of attackers

“By releasing video, militants want to glamourise militancy. But they can’t,” says police

Srinagar: Two days after an attack on armed forces personnel in Kreeri Baramulla, militants on social media have released a video of the attack.

In a video purportedly shot by one the militant who was part of the attack is seen firing at the armed forces personnel.

Meanwhile, police on Friday morning by responding to the video said that it killed all the militants involved in the attack within 72 hours.

Police, from its official handle, wrote on Twitter: “By releasing video of attack, militants want to glamourise militancy. But they can’t. We replied by actions & killed 04 top commanders, Sajjad @ Haider & FT Taimur Khan @ Abu Usman (seen in said video/attack) & Naseer @ Sad bhai & FT Ali bhai @ Danish within 72 hours.”

On August 17, hours after three armed forces personnel were killed in a militant attack in Kreeri Baramulla district, an exchange of gunfire between the militants and armed forces personnel begun and resulted in the killing of 3 militants.

later in a press conference, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said that Top LeT Commander Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the slain militants killed in the gunfight.

Haider, according to police was instrumental in “recruiting new militants” and was the mastermind behind many “attacks” on armed forces personnel and political activists.

However, this is not the first video militants shared after carrying attack on the armed forces personnel.

Earlier, the video was shared when militants carried an attack on a convoy of armed forces personnel at Hyderpora in Srinagar on June 24, 2013, killing 10 armed forces personnel.

The attack, according to an official source, was carried by militants identified as Qasim and Rrshad Ganai.

Another video was shared when a slain militant Naveed Jatt showered bullets on the vehicle of armed forces personnel in south Kashmir.
