1,590 infections reported in 24 hours take JK’s COVID tally to 58,244

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday informed that 1,590 fresh COVID cases were detected in the erstwhile state in last 24 hours, thus taking the total number of cases in JK to 58,244.

JK also reported 18 new deaths due to the virus- 11 from Jammu division and 07 from Kashmir.

Moreover, 747 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 275 from Jammu and 472 from Kashmir.

According to the daily bulletin, out of 58,244 positive cases, 19503 are Active Positive, 37809 have recovered and 932 have died; 185 in Jammu division and 747 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 1297329 test results available, 1239085 samples have been tested as negative till September 16, 2020.

Till date, 530708 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 31140 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 19503 in isolation and 63886 under home surveillance. Besides, 415247 persons have completed their surveillance period.
