Shopian: Two militants have been killed in a night-long military operation at Sugan village of Zainapora belt in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Official sources said that two unidentified militants have been killed and search operation in the area is going on. They said an AK 47 and a Pistol was also recovered from the site.

On Tuesday evening, the operation was suspended due to darkness; however, resumed this morning.
The operation began after a joint team of Police, army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
Officials said that as the joint teams of armed forces personnel approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an operation.
Meanwhile, Internet services in the district have been suspended by authorities.
