ACB sleuths conduct raids at multiple places in north Kashmir’s Baramulla

Baramulla:  Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday carried out raids at multiple places in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, official sources said.

They said that a team from the ACB conducted searches at places including Model Town of Sopore tehsil, Rohama and Uri areas of the district.

The sources, however, declined to comment on any recovery made at any of the searched off places so far. A senior police officer while confirming about the raids said that further details will be shared later.

Official sources told a local news agency KNT that raids were conducted with regard to “embezzlement and corruption” at the houses of some government employees in north Kashmir. One of the raids was conducted in Humpora Kralgund area of Handwara in the house of a Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Department employee. The employee has been identified as Nazir Ahmed Lone who is presently posted as Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Sopore.
