PSO of PDP leader injured in militant attack in Srinagar succumbs

Srinagar:  The Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader who was shot by identified gunmen in Natipora area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district has succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Earlier, a police official said that unidentified gunmen fired at Manzoor Ahmed Belt number 328, a selection grade constable, at Natipora leaving him critically injured. “He was guarding PDP leader Pervez Ahmed,” he said.

Sources had said that Manzoor had gone to the market to buy milk and he was shot near the entry gate of the PDP leader Pervez.

“He received gunshot wounds,” they had said, adding that the injured has been shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar. However, official sources now confirmed that the injured person has succumbed to his injuries.
