Kulgam: Suspected militants on Thursday shot dead a political worker in Devsar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday evening.
An official said that the worker Ghulam Hassan Lone associated with Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party was shot outside his residence in which he received critical injuries.
He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment; however, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased was reportedly former Block President of PDP who had later joined the Apni Party as Zonal President.
Meanwhile, the official said that the area has been cordoned off and searches have been launched by the armed forces.
