After the death of Kashmir’s most prominent resistance leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, restrictions on public gatherings remained in place in most sections of the Valley, while mobile internet services were stopped on Saturday morning after being restored the night before.

Geelani, 92, died at his home in Srinagar on Wednesday night after a prolonged illness. He was buried at a graveyard near his residence in Hyderpora area of Srinagar district.

Following his death, restrictions were imposed in the Valley.
