Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said that legitimate doubts are looming over the authenticity of Rambagh shoot out in which police claimed three militants of TRF were killed.
“After yesterday’s alleged encounter at Rambagh legitimate doubts are looming over its authenticity. As per reports & witnesses it seems that the firing was one sided,” Mehbooba tweeted this morning.

“Again the official version far from truth is not in line with ground realities as seen in Shopian, HMT & Hyderpora,” she added.
On Wednesday, a police spokesperson said that three militants of TRF were killed in an “encounter” at Rambagh road in Srinagar.
“Acting on a specific information regarding the movement of (militants) Srinagar Police immediately swung into action and established a special Naka to track them down,” the spokesman said, adding, “The (militants) were traveling in a car which Was signalled to stop by the Naka party. They did not stop and instead opened fire on the Naka party which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.”
He said, three militants of TRF outfit were killed and one among them was the commander.
The killed militants were later on identified as Mehraan Yaseen Shalla son of Mohammad Yaseen Shalla of Jamalata, Arafat Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammed Maqbool Sheikh resident of Nikloora Litter Pulwama and Manzoor Ahmad Mir son of Late Sonaullah Mir resident of Babhar Pulwama.
