Srinagar: One more militant has been killed in a military operation against militants in Gasu Shalimar area of Srinagar, police said on Monday.
Inspector General of Police, Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said that another militant has been killed in the military operation in Gasu. So far, the police said two militants have been killed and the second slain has been identified as Hamza of Pakistan.
Regarding the operation, the IGP said, “He (the slain militant) was involved in the killing of 2 policemen in Bandipora and after this incident, he shifted to Harwan area of Srinagar”
More than an hour before this operation, police had said that it killed a militant commander Muhammad Saleem Parray associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit in Shalimar Srinagar.
The police had termed the Parray’s killing a “big success” for the armed forces.
