At least 10 dead, over 40 injured in blast in Balochistan’s Mastung

Mastang: A powerful blast at the procession of Eid-e-Milad un Nabi (ﷺ) in Mastung area of Balochistan on Friday killed at least 10 people and wounded over 40 people. This incident marks the second major explosion in the district within the same month.

Initial reports suggest that the blast rocked the vicinity near the revered Medina Masjid during the main procession of Eid-e-Milad un Nabi (ﷺ).

Quoting Station House Officer (SHO) Javed Lehri, Geo News reported that the injured are being transported to medical facilities, and hospitals have initiated emergency response measures.

Mastung Assistant Commissioner Atta Ul Munim described the explosion as “massive” and noted that it occurred near Madina Mosque, where people were planning to participate in a procession later.

As per the report, the district administration has confirmed that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori from Mastung is among the casualties, and they expressed concern about the critical condition of some of the injured.

Earlier in the same month, a blast in Mastung had injured several people, including Hafiz Hamdullah, a leader from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) party.
