Ganderbal: The Srinaagr-Leh highway (Zojilla Pass) was closed on Tuesday after upper reaches of zojila in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir received fresh snowfall.
However, due to the improvement in weather conditions across Zojila, traffic was released from Minamarg towards Srinagar.
The snowfall in Drass and Minimarg had led to closure of Sonamarg-Zojila road, officilas said.
Official said that keeping in view the slippery condition and fresh snowfall, the sonamarg Zojjila road has been closed as a precautionary measure, Kargil Police informed on X
“Due to fresh snowfall & slippery road conditions at Zojilla Pass of NH-1D traffic has been stopped at Minamarg & Sonamarg till weather improves,” read the first post.
“Due to improvement in weather conditions across Zojila, traffic has now been released from Minamarg towards Srinagar,” Kargil police shared later.
