Jammu: Poonch Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a rape accused who had been evading arrest for the past 43 years.
The accused was identified as Abdul Khaliq from Dhargloon in Poonch’s Mendhar area.
“He was wanted in case FIR No 109/ 1979 u/s 376/341/382 RPC of P/S Mendhar and was absconding since then. A case stands registered in Police Station Mendhar in this regard and a general warrant of arrest u/s 512 CrPC was issued against him by Session Court Poonch on 19/09/1992, police told Times of India.
