Ready to coordinate with Russia to address Israel-Palestine conflict: China

China is ready to maintain communication and coordination with Russia to address the Israel-Palestine conflict, its Middle East special envoy said after meeting with his Russian counterpart this week, international media reported.

After a meeting with the Russian counterpart in Doha, Qatar, Zhai Jun emphasised the shared stance of China and Russia on the Palestinian issue, citing the lack of assurance for the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people as the core reason for the ongoing conflict.

China is deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis and civilian casualties and is prepared to actively contribute to restarting peace talks and ensuring the genuine execution of the two-state solution, Reuters reported.

Zhai also highlighted that China holds no ulterior motives in its involvement in the Palestinian conflict.

While discussing various issues, the two envoys also briefly touched upon Syria without providing further details.

Additionally, Russia emphasized its close coordination with China in the Middle East and North Africa, extending beyond the Israel conflict to encompass other crises in these regions.

According to documentation by Euro-Med Monitor, at least 4,079 Palestinians have been killed, including 1,413 children and 806 women.

More than 15,000 additional Palestinians have been injured in various ways, with more than half of them being children and women.

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor concluded that Israel is committing complex war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

The organisation reiterated that these crimes represent serious violations of international humanitarian law and may amount to war crimes under the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilians.
