British maritime security firm Ambrey said that a merchant vessel was stuck by unmanned aerial vehicle off India’s Verval, news agency Reuters reported.
The incident, which occurred 200 kilometers (120 miles) southwest of Veraval, India, resulted in the successful extinguishing of the fire on the Liberian-flagged chemical products tanker, with no casualties reported among the crew, as stated by the firm.
“Some structural damage was also reported and some water was taken onboard. The vessel was Israel-affiliated. She had last called Saudi Arabia and was destined for India at the time,” the firm said on its website, as reported by the international news agency.
