On Tuesday, local authorities in Gaza have accused Israel of stealing organs from the bodies of Palestinians, urging an international investigation, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Gaza-based government media office, in a statement, asserted that examinations of the bodies revealed significant alterations in their shapes, attributing these changes to the purported theft of vital organs from the corpses.

According to the statement, the Israeli army handed over bodies without providing names and declined to specify the locations from where they were seized.

Furthermore, the statement alleged that such acts of organ theft occurred repeatedly during the ongoing war in Gaza, even involving the exhumation of bodies from graveyards.

The statement strongly criticized what it described as “the silent position of the international organizations operating in Gaza, including the International Committee of the Red Cross,” regarding what they considered an “awful crime” committed by the Israeli occupation.

As of the time of the statement, Israeli authorities had not offered any official response to these accusations, the report said.

Earlier on the same Tuesday, Israel released the bodies of numerous Palestinians who had been killed by the Israeli army during its ground operation.

These bodies were received by Gaza’s Health Ministry through the Kerem Shalom border crossing in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

So far, since October 7, Israel has killed over 20,000 Palestinians in its bombardment that still continues.
