Gaza: In the midst of the ongoing genocide in Gaza by Israel, in which 21,000 Palestinians have lost lives, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has revealed a dire situation in Gaza.

Over 1,50,000 Palestinians, including young children, women with infants, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly, find themselves with nowhere to go amid the hostilities.

The UN aid agency attributes this forced displacement to the evacuation order issued by Israeli authorities in middle Gaza.

In response to this critical situation, the UNRWA is underscoring the urgent need for a humanitarian ceasefire as the only remaining hope for those affected.

Jan Egeland, the Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council, has provided alarming statistics, indicating that a staggering 1.9 million Palestinians in Gaza, constituting more than 80% of the population, have been internally displaced.

The indiscriminate bombardment by Israel has resulted in the damage of over 250,000 housing units, with an additional 50,000 units completely destroyed.

Consequently, more than 1 million people in Gaza now lack a safe and secure home to return to, emphasising the severe humanitarian impact of the conflict on the civilian population.
