Special prayers performed at several temples in Kashmir to mark Ram temple consecration

Srinagar: On Monday, special religious ceremonies took place at various temples in Kashmir, including the Shankaracharya temple, to commemorate the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Devotees from the small Hindu community and tourists gathered at the Shankaracharya temple on the Zabarwan hills to participate in organised prayers for the Ayodhya event, followed by a langar for the attendees.

Similar special prayers were conducted at the Hanuman temple on the banks of the Jhelum river in Amirakadal area, with the temple adorned in celebration of the Ram temple consecration.

In Anantnag district, a havan was organised at the Sun temple in Mattan, where devotees prayed for the restoration of complete normalcy in Kashmir.

Organisers expressed their hopes for communal harmony and brotherhood, recalling the period before 1990.

Additionally, a special prayer is planned for later in the evening at the historic Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk area. Temples across Kashmir will be adorned with thousands of lamps to signify the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
