India has communicated on Friday that it is actively engaging with Moscow to ensure the swift repatriation of Indians serving as support staff to the Russian Army.

The statement from Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry, comes in response to reports indicating the presence of Indians working in support roles within the conflict zone in Ukraine.

Jaiswal acknowledged the involvement of a few Indian nationals in support positions with the Russian Army and revealed that the Indian embassy in Moscow has consistently raised this matter with relevant Russian authorities, seeking their early discharge.

The emphasis was placed on urging all Indian nationals to exercise prudence and distance themselves from the ongoing conflict.

In summary, India is taking steps to facilitate the return of its citizens from support roles in the Russian Army, actively engaging with Moscow and cautioning its nationals to stay away from the conflict zone in Ukraine.
