Badaun: Two children were brutally killed by someone known to their father in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday evening. The incident caused tension in the area, leading to increased police presence, reports said.
According to the police, the tragic incident occurred in Badaun’s Baba Colony, and an investigation is underway. The accused, identified as Sajid, a salon owner who was acquainted with the children’s father, reportedly entered their home around 7:30 pm on Tuesday.
At the time, the children were playing on the terrace. Sajid attacked them, resulting in the death of two children instantly, while the third child, a six-year-old, survived with injuries.
After the attack, Sajid attempted to flee but was confronted by a crowd. He managed to escape and fired at the police when they arrived. In the ensuing encounter, Sajid was killed. The police recovered the murder weapon and a revolver.
The father of the deceased children alleged that Sajid had demanded money from him. The incident caused unrest in the area, prompting the police to increase security measures, including conducting a flag march.
Badaun District Magistrate Manoj Kumar stated that people were upset upon hearing about the attack and urged them to maintain peace. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and the motive behind the murder is still unclear.
