Congress leaders in Assam are fixed deposits for BJP: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Biswa Sharma and Narendra Modi.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the future of the Congress leader and his party doesn’t look promising.

He stated to the press on Tuesday, “People who want India to become a global leader will likely vote for Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister is striving to make our country strong on the world stage.”

Sarma believes that Rahul Gandhi lacks vision and determination, and his prospects after the Lok Sabha polls are not bright.

“Choosing Congress means supporting Rahul Gandhi, who doesn’t have a bright future, while supporting BJP means supporting PM Modi,” he added. The Chief Minister also remarked that the Congress party is collapsing nationwide.

He said, “In Assam, Congress leaders are like reserves for us. Whenever needed, we will welcome them into the BJP.”

Sarma had previously stated that except for one or two leaders, the rest of the Congress party members would eventually join the BJP.

He explained, “Everyone will join the BJP, which is why we have always kept our doors open. Even the Congress President in Assam, Bhupen Borah, will switch sides.”
