Bahraich: A 35-year-old Muslim man, Wakil Ahmed, was fatally beaten on his way home after Taraweeh prayers around 11pm on Monday in Bahraich City, Uttar Pradesh, Siasat.com reported.
The gruesome incident has incited outrage in the local community, a video of the incident was posted by Hate Dectector.
Videos of the incident aftermath, showing Ahmed’s naked body with severe wounds, are circulating on social media platforms.
In response to the appalling killing, the Bahraich police have initiated an investigation and assured swift justice for the perpetrators.
Ahmed, who operated a shop, was returning home after closing his shop late in the evening, as per police reports.
A senior police official confirmed to the Siasat.com that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
“We have sent the body for autopsy and a probe has been launched to nab all culprits involved in the heinous crime. Further investigation is underway,” stated the police officer.
