Awantipora: A woman died and seven others were injured in a road accident in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Sunday.
The accident occurred at Chursoo Awantipora, resulting in injuries to eight people who were taken to PHC Awantipora. However, it was not immediately known in what circumstances the accident took place.
At the PHC, doctors pronounced Sumi Jan, wife of Mudasir Ahmad Ganie from Panzgam, as brought dead. Three of the injured have been referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for further treatment, while four others are receiving treatment at PHC Awantipora and are reported to be stable.
The injured persons are Lali Jan, wife of Ab Hameed Teeli, from Pakarpora Budgam, Zubaida, wife of Zakir Hussain Band, from Karnabal Pampore, Abdul Hamid Teli, son of Ali Mohd Teeli, from Pakarpora, Aalima Jan, daughter of Showkat Ah Dar, from Pampore (minor injuries) and Noorullad Miya, son of Azad Miya, from Bihar, havs been shifted to Srinagar from PHC Awantipora
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
