Kulgam: Two militants have been killed in a military operation in Redwani Payeen area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
Accoridng to the police, two militant bodies are visible at the operation site while searches are still underway.
“Bodies of w terrorists killed in the anti-terrorist operation recovered so far. Identity & affiliation being ascertained. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” police wrote on X.
The identity of the slain militants will be established after completion of the operation, the officer added.
Earlier on Monday evening, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and personnel of Indian army launched a cordon and search operation in Redwani Payeen.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering the operation.
The operation was halted for the night due to precautionary measures and was resumed this morning.
