Leopard killed after injuring six in Budgam, say officials

Budgam: A leopard was euthanised after it attacked and injured six people in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday.

According to an official, a wild leopard attacked and harmed six people while they were working in agricultural fields at Nasrullah Pora.

Local residents promptly transported the injured to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred Danish Ahmad Malik and others to SMHS Hospital for further treatment.

A hospital doctor confirmed the incident and identified the injured as Abdul Gaffar Rather, 70, Adil Shafi Mir, 25, Jahangir Ahmad Mir, 27, Waqar Rashid Dar, 21, and Suhail Ahmad Magloo, 18, all residents of Nasrullahpora, Budgam.

A wildlife official reported that the leopard was euthanised and removed from the location.
