New Delhi: Chief Adviser to Bangladesh’s interim government, Muhammad Yunus, has assured that a free, fair, and inclusive election will be organised soon after implementing key reforms in the state’s institutions.

Speaking to diplomats in Dhaka on Sunday, Yunus emphasised that the interim government’s main goal is to stabilise the situation by reforming the election commission, judiciary, civil administration, security forces, and media.

Yunus also stressed that restoring law and order is a top priority, with the support of the people, armed forces, and police. The armed forces will continue to assist civilian authorities as needed, and the government is committed to ensuring the safety of all religious and ethnic groups.

In addition, Yunus highlighted the government’s plan for comprehensive economic reforms to restore stability and sustain growth, with a focus on good governance and fighting corruption.

Yunus reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to international agreements and its role in global peacekeeping. He also called on trade and investment partners to continue supporting Bangladesh’s economic prosperity.
