AIP candidate for Sopore labels Mehbooba Mufti ‘mentally ill,’ blames her for BJP’s entry into Kashmir

Advocate Mursaleen, a candidate from the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP), contesting assembly polls from Sopore.

Sopore: Advocate Mursaleen, a candidate from the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) contesting the Sopore seat, has labelled former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti “mentally ill.”

During a recent campaign speech, Mursaleen accused Mehbooba Mufti of opening the doors for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to enter Kashmir. He claimed that her actions as a political leader had paved the way for the BJP’s influence in the region, leading to widespread discontent and political instability.

Mursaleen’s remarks as various political parties of campaigning ahead of assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, which will start from Sept 18.  The former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader is yet to respond to the allegations.
