Udhampur: A military operation against militants has started against militants in Khandara Top Basantgarh area of Udhampur Jammu division district on Wednesday afternoon.
The operation took place when armed forces of the first para of the Army along with Jammu and Kashmir Police moved to Khandara top following information about the presence of a group of militants, police officials said.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering the operation, he said.
