Hezbollah appoints Naim Qassem as new chief after Nasrallah’s death in Israeli strikes

Sheikh Naim Qassem, who earlier served as Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, has been appointed as chief after Nasrallah's death in Israeli strikes.

Hezbollah announced Naim Qassem as its new chief on Tuesday, following the deaths of former leaders Hashim Saifuddin and Hassan Nasrallah in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon.

Qassem, who served as deputy to Nasrallah and acted as interim leader since his passing, will now officially lead the group, according to an announcement made on October 29.
