Lolab: A military operation against militants has started in the Lolab forests of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.
This marks the second operation in north Kashmir within a few hours, following a similar operation launched in Bandipora district earlier in the day.
According to officials, one militant was killed in the Bandipora operation , which is still ongoing as of Tuesday evening.
A joint team comprising Jammu and Kashmir Police and Indian Army personnel initiated a cordon and search operation in the dense Lolab forests.
As armed forces approached a suspected militant hideout, militants opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
