Israeli violations of Lebanon ceasefire reach 259; 31 dead, homes demolished

Lebanon attacked by Israel.

The Israeli army breached a cease-fire with Lebanon six times on its 23rd day, reports revealed on Thursday, as reported by Anadolu.

Since the cease-fire’s announcement on November 27, Israeli violations have reached 259, resulting in 31 deaths and 37 injuries, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

Israeli forces reportedly demolished homes in the southern Lebanese town of Kafr Kila, triggering tremors across the region. An Israeli military drone was spotted flying over Tyre, while the town of Alma al-Shaab near the border came under attack. Additional strikes targeted homes in Tayr Harfa, and Israeli bulldozers destroyed buildings in Naqoura.

Data from Lebanon’s Health Ministry shows that since Israel’s military campaign against Lebanon began on October 8, 2023, over 4,061 people have been killed, including 1,106 women and children and 222 health workers. Another 16,661 persons have been injured.

The fragile cease-fire, in effect since November 27, followed months of military operations. The conflict intensified after Hezbollah, a Lebanese armed group, supported Gaza following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
