Srinagar: Editors and owners of new newspapers in Jammu and Kashmir express concern over the lack of empanelment despite fulfilling all formalities outlined by the information department.
The last empanelment occurred in 2019; since then, no new newspapers have been considered, contrary to the department’s guidelines mandating biannual empanelment.
Notably, some publications have been operating independently for over eight years without receiving government advertisements or support. This delay hampers their growth and sustainability.
