Have 4 children and get ₹1 lakh reward: MP Brahmin board chief to Hindus

Pandit Vishnu Rajoria, chairman of the government-run Parshuram Kalyan Board in Madhya Pradesh.

Bhopal: Pandit Vishnu Rajoria, chairman of the government-run Parshuram Kalyan Board in Madhya Pradesh, has urged Brahmin youth to have at least four children to counter what he referred to as the potential dominance of “vidharmi” (heretics) in the country.

Speaking at a gathering of the Sanadhya Brahmin community in Indore on Sunday, Rajoria, who holds a cabinet minister rank in the state government, also announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for families having four children.

He clarified to The Print that the prize money would not require any government involvement, as arrangements would be made by him, the board, and societal connections.

Addressing the audience, Rajoria criticised the trend of having just one child among successful professionals, describing it as a mistake.

He appealed to Brahmin youth to have at least four children, promising the prize money regardless of his tenure as chairman.

Rajoria acknowledged concerns about the financial burden of raising children, particularly the cost of education, but urged people to prioritize increasing family size, warning that the Brahmin community risked becoming a minority if current trends continued.

Senior BJP leader and spokesperson Dr. Hitesh Bajpai defended Rajoria’s remarks, stating they reflect concerns about the declining Hindu fertility rate and should not be viewed politically.

However, Congress leader Mukesh Nayak criticized the appeal, arguing that calls for larger families—from imams to RSS leaders and Jain munis—exacerbate issues like overpopulation, environmental degradation, unemployment, and declining quality of life. Nayak called on intellectuals to challenge such narratives.
