IT giant Wipro is set to onboard up to 12,000 freshers in the next fiscal year (FY26), building on its goal of hiring around 10,000 freshers in the current fiscal year (FY25).

Chief Human Resources Officer Saurabh Govil revealed that approximately 7,000 freshers joined the company during the October-December (Q3) quarter, with an additional 2,500–3,000 expected to be onboarded in Q4 FY25. He highlighted Wipro’s cautious yet steady hiring strategy, aimed at optimising employee utilisation and improving profit margins amidst a decline in attrition rates.

As of December 31, 2024, Wipro’s headcount stood at 232,732 employees, reflecting a net reduction of 1,157 in Q3 FY25, with a net utilisation rate of 83.5%.

In its Q3 FY25 results, Wipro reported a sequential 4.5% rise in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹3,354 crore, compared to the previous quarter. The company also announced an interim dividend of ₹6 per share.

For the quarter ending March 31, 2025, Wipro projects revenue from its IT Services segment to range between $2,602 million and $2,655 million.

Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director, noted that despite the seasonal weakness, strong execution during the quarter enabled the company to exceed the upper end of its revenue guidance.

Chief Financial Officer Aparna Iyer reported a consistent expansion of margins for the fourth consecutive quarter, achieving the target margin of 17.5%.

“We are pleased to announce that the board has approved a revised capital allocation policy, increasing the committed payout percentage to 70% or more over a three-year block. Additionally, the board has declared an interim dividend of ₹6 per share,” Iyer added.
